After earning her Bachelor’s degree in biology with a minor in chemistry at Rutgers, Dr. Vanderwende-Bleeker received her Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. She graduated in 1997 as a member of the Gamma Pi Delta prosthodontic honor society. She has been practicing in Wayne, New Jersey, since 1999 and participates in continuing education classes throughout the year. She has received advanced training in CEREC, BOTOX®, and JUVÉDERM®. She is a member of the American Dental Association® and the New Jersey Dental Association. She has been regularly named as one of New Jersey’s Top Docs since 2006 and has also been honored as one of America’s Top Dentists. In 2018 she was recognized by the Women of Distinction with Lifetime Honors.
As a dentist, she is dedicated to helping people conquer their fears and smile with such happiness that their hearts bubble over with tears of joy. Many of her patients have not smiled in 20-40 years, and she loves being able to help them regain a confident smile.
Dr. Vanderwende-Bleeker is involved with Dental Lifeline, donating dental services for underserved individuals. She donated regularly to a number of charities, including the ASPCA, the Humane Society and the Lymphoma/Leukemia Society. She also donates to many organizations through her church, where she has taught Sunday School for 18 years and is currently on the council.
Dr. Vanderwende-Bleeker’s husband is an architect. They have four children and three dogs, and are currently developing a veteran’s housing project which they hope will be the first of many. Outside the office Dr. Vanderwende-Bleeker’s hobbies include cycling, skiing, sailing and skeet shooting. She currently leads two rides a week in her cycling club, and has achieved her ASA basic sailing certificate.
